Testes develop inside the abdomen of fetus  and descends down to scrotum to permanently house there through a path in the abdominal wall called inguinal canal.Sometimes it may so happen it's descend is arrested somewhere in it's path to be called undescended testis .According to pull theory  on descend of testis there are five strands to pull the testis and powerful becomes the scrotal one .But if some other string becomes more powerful it may drag the testis to some other location to be called imperfectly descended testis.

Again though seen in both sides, right side is more commonly affected because of later descend as described in my last blog post.Invariably these are associated with a hernia of that side or sometimes a hydrocele or both.An undescended testis has to be brought down before the age of six years to help  its normal development. After 14 years of age it has to be removed as chances of further development will not be there and on the other hand it may undergo cancerous transformation.
An ultrasonography plays a great role in decisions making as regards to the plan of surgery and correction of the abnormality.
I have observed many a times parents ignore to correct these condition. And sometimes pay a heavy price for that.
           LET US BE SAFE.
