A New Synthetic Drug for Malaria

A new synthetic drug called SynriamTM, the outcome from the research work of Jonathan Vennerstrom, Ph.D. of University of Nebraska Medical Center has been approved in India for treatment of uncomplicated malaria.
It has to be taken once day for three consecutive days, and is independent of food intake. It has fewer side effects than the presently available drugs.
